BinBar Lights

The buttons on the BinBar make different patterns depending on the status.

BinBar Turning On​

When a battery is first plugged in, or immediately after the reset button is pushed, BinBar will do the following pattern:

  1. Booting, Hardware Check - Fading Blue Action Button.

    This will last for approximately 10 seconds.

  2. Connecting to Cellular Network - Blinking Blue Action Button.

    In areas with poor cell network coverage, the button may blink for over a minute.

    In good cell network coverage, the button may blink only for 10 seconds or less.

  3. Success, Publishing Data - Solid Blue Action Button

    The blue LED will stay on for 10 seconds and then turn off. You can leave the BinBar.

BinBar Powered on and Sleeping​

BinBar measures weight periodically and publishes to the cloud regularly. When not measuring data, BinBar will be asleep. You can verify that BinBar is powered on, but sleeping by observing the blue action button.

Similar to a smoke detector, the action button will blink blue extremely briefly every 10 seconds.

BinBar Internal Hardware Error​

If an internal hardware error occurs, BinBar will blink the red reset button. Please contact Scalable Systems Group
